TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Claudia Fuenmayor Piano Studio was founded by a piano teacher with degrees in both Piano Pedagogy (the art of teaching piano) and Piano Performance (the art of playing the piano). She is purposeful and passionate about the art of teaching music.
She believes all students deserve the best foundation from the start of their musical journey. Students of all levels can benefit from her teaching style, even if they are not going to be professional pianists. Some of the fundamentals of the educational program include: learning proper piano technique, music theory, ear training, musicianship, artistry, improvisation, composition, and music history. Her teaching methods give students all the tools they need to become independent learners, so they can achieve their musical goals.
She teaches beginners, intermediate and advanced students with ages ranging from 4 years old and up. Her main focus is on classical music repertoire with the option of some jazz and pop music as well.
She encourages the students to participate and attend all the lessons, recitals, master classes and studio classes to keep a constant emphasis on music. Students are encouraged to practice at least six days a week, according to their level. An acoustic piano is mandatory for optimal learning. Students need to be committed to the lessons and follow the detailed instruction provided to reach their full potential and get the most out of the lessons given. Most importantly the support and involvement of the parents for non-adult students is essential to achieve quality results from her teachings. It takes the dedication of the student, parents and teacher to orchestrate the proper environment and accountability needed to achieve the next steps throughout the musical program.
